Third Pair

If you are into sneakers than you will probably know what the magazine Sneaker Freaker is all about.  Based out of Australia, along with the fucking most awesome tour ever The Sneaker Pimps tour.  These cats know shoes and they know how to make some clean collaborations.

Puma isn't my favorite brand of all time, but it's up there.  I can say with confidence that I find very few of their shoes ugly( I am not talking about that ugly ass ratfaced lifestyle collection they are doing now.).  In terms of general casual wear, Puma does it as well as Nike.

Onward to the sneakers.  Today I rocked the PumaXSneakerFreaker Blaze of Glorys.  I rate these the second most comfortable shoe I own.  Sporting the bootie like upper, which is like a satin lined glove on your feet and the bed consist of the Trinomic cells, which is like walking on the leftovers of 400 lb womans lyposcution they are so soft.

The pair I own are the Black Beast. They also released a grey pair, but at the time I wasn't into grey so i skipped on them.  Seriously regretting that now, because those joints will not go for less than 300, at that price, no thank you I'll pass. They are covered in a mostly ink black upper, consisting of mesh and suede, which makes hot days easy in these.  The mudguard is mostly white with a splash of hot pink in the front and sea foam green on the back.  The sole is sea foam green as well.  What I love about this collaboration, was the extras ( I didn't take pictures, feeling lazy.) three set of laces, black, white, sea foam.  It came with two liners, both matching accordingly to the shoe and the blue and red shark teeth that hang on the side.

Getting them was a pain in the ass, but in the end well worth it.  I advise if you ever see a pair of Blaze of Glorys or even the Disc Blaze go for them.  You will not regret it.

Day 2 Second Pair

Alrighty so here we are.  Now granted I didn't actually wear these today, I am one day behind everypost so work with me.

The Adidas Fortitude "Friends and Family" pack.  Now  Adidas was cool in my freshman year of highschool when I could get two pairs for 89 dollars at Footlocker, but other than that I didn't fuck with them.  For me most of Adidas shoes look like orthopedic running shoes for seniors or they have that stupid shell toe. I am sorry, but shelltoes are fucking stupid looking.  I might as well buy some Toms and hotglue a big fucking sea shell on them, and they would look exactly the same.

Now you know how Rocky always makes a big comeback in his films right?  Well for me that's what Adidas was doing when I saw these shoes.  Fucking Rocky theme with the old guy screaming you're a bum Rock and all. I couldn't believe that these shoes were made by Adidas.  The color scheme was purely classic, and the boot sneaker hybrid thing was so cool to see.  I mean I have seen the sneaker boot hybrid thing before, but it was usaully some ugly ass Air Max 90 boot thing.  These were defenitely way better than those.

I picked them up at Majors in D.C., which by the way is one the best sneaker boutiques ever.  Not like some other ones (I won't say names.) that act like they are better than you as soon step foot in the door and get shitty if you leave without buying something.  Anyways I wore them right out the box and I can say that they have been in rotation ever since.

The shoe itself is super comfortable, the bed of the shoe molds to your foot almost completely within the first wear.  They are of course ankle high, which isn't a big deal because these badboys are super light.  The toe is mesh, which for me is always a plus when deciding whether or not to purchase a pair of shoes.  They have a non skid sole, I really don't care about that personally but figured I would share.  All in all Adidas hit a homerun with these shoes, now I hope they can keep this going.

Day one , Pair one

Ok so I figured I would start off from yesterday.  Now I love the Asics Gel Lyte 3, and I mean I love it.  That is where the problem lies.  Being in America we hardly get any decent colorways of the model.  It's mostly ugly placed colors on the shoe.  I think it is mainly because shoe stores see Asics as a running shoe company, so the company doesn't waste time or money on bringing the high end models to America.  Now before this Ronnie Feig craze and Nicekicks craze, there were very few nice Gel Lyte 3's made available to Americans, not including what you could get on Ebay or where ever else on the internet.

One of the nice models came to America in the form of a collaboration with Alife of New York.  If you're into sneakers than you know about Alife. They started out a small sneaker boutique, and I believe one of the first stores to adapt the "boutique" stlye to their store.

Back to the shoe.  I remember seeing these and thinking to myself " I would rob a homeless person of their "need change" sign to get these."  And I was serious.  I was just getting into sneakers at the time and for me this was a new concept.  They made the shoe to look like a monster, including plastic eyes for the shoe laces.  I hadn't realized that it was actually three shoes, each one a different monster.  I saw the black ones first, known as the "Black Lagoons" and decided to chase these down.
Now  being in the Army has its ups and downs.  The downs were in play here.  The majority of the time the Army sends you to small hick towns, where the mall and local bowling alley are  the "What's happening."  So for me, I had to do a lot of phone chasing( calling different stores to see if they had them and if they will do phone orders and ship.) That didn't play out, so I had to go where people sell Jesus chaped chips.  And as luck would have it, their they were in all thier glory, I spent no time waiting, I placed my bid determined not to be beat.  Oh yes I won, looking back at it though, maybe paying 250 dollars for them might have been to much. But for me, knowing that Gel Lyte 3's were hard to come by period, I reasoned it out in my head, saying to myself I am paying for availibility.
In all I love the shoe.  It has the split toungue, which I never witnessed to be on any other shoe, not to say that there aren't any other brands that do that.  The quality of the material is superb for a "running shoe".  These were obviously not meant to run in though being they have the all leather toe box.  Which makes the shoe look great, until you actually wear them then they start to get those damn ugly streak running across the toebox.  The eyes make for an awesome attention getter, I am not so much into that so I keep them boxed unless I am taking pictures of them.
So I got into the top 20 of sneakernews.com WDYWT, vote for em
